DAY 1
Arrival in Reykjavik
TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL
Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival at Keflavík International Airport, you’ll be transferred to the capital city, Reykjavik. Settle into your hotel and take the rest of the day to unwind or explore the charming streets of the world’s northernmost capital. Depending on your arrival time, you can stroll along the scenic harbor, visit Hallgrímskirkja Church, or dine at one of the city’s renowned seafood restaurants. Overnight stay in Reykjavik.

DAY 2
South Coast Highlights
Waterfalls, Lava Fields, and Black Sand Wonders
This morning, collect your Land Rover Defender , fully equipped for Iceland’s winter terrain. After a vehicle briefing and route orientation, your self-drive adventure begins. Begin your journey in Hveragerði, a geothermal village dotted with steaming vents and natural hot pools, before driving the South Coast via Selfoss. Stop at Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the falls, and continue to the mighty Skógafoss, rich in Viking legends. From Skógar, hike towards the 2010 volcanic eruption site, where the earth still radiates warmth. Continue to Dyrhólaey for dramatic coastal views and birdlife, then visit the striking black sands of Reynisfjara before ending the day in Vík.

DAY 3
Glaciers & Icebergs
Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon
Depart Vík and drive across the vast black floodplains of Mýrdalssandur to Kirkjubæjarklaustur, a peaceful village steeped in folklore, where legends trace its origins to either Irish monks or Norse settlers. Continue onward to Skaftafell National Park, nestled beneath the immense Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. A paradise for nature lovers, the park offers spectacular hiking trails, including a rewarding walk to the striking Svartifoss, framed by dramatic basalt columns. From here, head to the breathtaking Jökulsárlón, where massive icebergs drift silently across the lagoon toward the sea. Keep an eye out for seals gliding through the icy waters, adding to the surreal beauty of this unforgettable landscape.

DAY 4
Journey Back to South Coast
GLACIAL LANDSCAPES, CANYONS, AND VOLCANIC ICE CAVES
Begin your return journey along Iceland’s dramatic south coast. Stop at the stunning Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, a winding canyon with breathtaking viewpoints. Continue towards Vík for a thrilling Katla Ice Cave Tour, where black ice formations reveal the region’s volcanic past. Drive onward past Selfoss before concluding the day.

The Golden Circle
GULLFOSS, GEYSIR & GEOTHERMAL WONDERS
Head inland and stop at the impressive Kerið Volcanic Crater, then further inland to Faxi Waterfall. Continue on to see the famous Geysir and Strokkur Geysers. Strokkur is an active geyser that spouts boiling hot water 15 to 20 meters up every few minutes. Continue a short distance to the majestic Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s largest and most beautiful waterfalls. Continue to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located on the spot where two continental plates meet, creating a fascinating rift valley. Þingvellir is hauntingly beautiful despite its rugged, lunar-like landscapes.

DAY 6
Geothermal Wonders
VIKING HERITAGE AND CASCADING WATERFALLS
Drive towards Borgarnes, home to the Settlement Center, where Iceland’s early sagas and the story of Egill Skallagrímsson come to life. Continue to Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring, before visiting the historic site of Reykholt. Explore its museum and the ancient geothermal pool Snorralaug. Drive further inland to the unique Hraunfossar and Barnafoss, where water flows through lava fields in a stunning display. Return to Borgarnes and continue onward to the dramatic Snæfellsnes Peninsula for your overnight stay.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula
DRAMATIC COASTLINES AND VOLCANIC LANDSCAPES
Continue to Arnarstapi and Hellnar to experience rugged coastlines and rich birdlife. Drive around the peninsula beneath Snæfellsjökull, the iconic volcano that inspired Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne. Explore Snæfellsjökull National Park, with highlights like Djúpalónssandur and Dritvík, known for their dramatic landscapes and history. Continue along the north coast past Hellissandur, Rif, and Ólafsvík, before reaching the picturesque town of Stykkishólmur on Breiðafjörður Bay.
