It is one of the most remote and least explored parts of the country. The region comprises eight states: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Upon arriving in Guwahati, the first day involves essential tasks such as event registration, including signing indemnity bonds and vehicle registration, receiving event-specific ID cards and stickers, and the distribution of walkie-talkies. Following registration, participants receive a comprehensive event briefing covering the event’s overview, safety guidelines, itinerary, rules and regulations, equipment details, and contact information for event organizers, ensuring everyone is well-prepared and informed for a safe and enjoyable event experience.
On Day 2, your journey from Guwahati to Shillong takes you to the awe-inspiring Nartiang Monoliths, the tallest monoliths in the world. These intricately carved stone memorials offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Jaintia community. After exploring this historical site, you’ll continue your scenic drive to Shillong, often called the “Scotland of the East,” where you’ll be surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Meghalaya. This day combines cultural immersion with the natural beauty that characterizes the North East, promising more exciting adventures ahead.
This day promises to be filled with incredible experiences. You’ll start with a visit to the Living Root Bridge, an extraordinary example of nature and human collaboration. Next, you’ll explore Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village, and enjoy a magical sunset boat ride on the pristine Dawki River, Asia’s cleanest river, all while surrounded by the enchanting beauty of Meghalaya. Finally, you’ll return to Shillong, having created lasting memories of your North East India journey.
On Day 4 of your journey, you’ll bid farewell to Shillong and embark on a scenic drive to Tezpur. Tezpur, located in Assam, offers a change of landscape and a new experience. As you travel, you’ll witness the lush greenery and beautiful terrain of the region, which is typical of the North-East. Day 4 marks a transition from the charming Meghalaya to the vibrant Assam, promising more exciting adventures on your North East India expedition.
On Day 5, your journey takes you from Tezpur to Dirang, and it involves an exciting border crossing into Arunachal Pradesh. This transition brings you into one of the most pristine and lesser-explored regions of India. As you venture into Arunachal Pradesh, you’ll encounter breathtaking landscapes, dense forests, and winding mountain roads that make this part of the North East truly special. Dirang, known for its natural beauty, offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the serene charm of the Eastern Himalayas.
On Day 6, your journey from Dirang to Tawang your first stop at Jung Falls offers a picturesque setting for a delightful picnic lunch.
As you continue your drive, crossing the famous Sela Pass, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains. This high-altitude pass is an ideal spot to savor a hot cup of tea and delicious Maggi noodles, a popular local snack. Day 6 blends natural wonders, delicious refreshments, and the thrill of adventure as you approach Tawang, one of the most iconic destinations in the North East.
On Day 7, your expedition takes you from Tawang to two incredible destinations – Madhuri Lake and Bum La. Madhuri Lake, named after the Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, is a breathtaking glacial lake surrounded by pristine landscapes and steep mountain peaks. It offers a serene escape into nature’s beauty.
From there, you’ll continue your journey to Bum La, a historical and scenic location at the Indo-China border. This high-altitude pass provides awe-inspiring views and a chance to explore the history and significance of the area.
On Day 8, your journey takes you from Tawang back to Dirang, offering a meaningful stopover at the Jaswant Garh Memorial. Here, you’ll hear the inspiring and brave story of Jaswant Singh Rawat, a heroic figure in Indian history.
Following this poignant visit, your exploration continues to the picturesque Sangti Valley. Here, you’ll enjoy a delightful riverside lunch, surrounded by the serene natural beauty that characterizes the North East. Day 8 marks a blend of history, inspiration, and scenic relaxation, making it a memorable part of your journey through this enchanting region.
On Day 9, your adventure continues as you leave Dirang behind and journey towards Kaziranga. This transition takes you from the mountains of Arunachal Pradesh to the Assam plains. As you approach Kaziranga National Park, you’ll be entering one of the world’s most famous wildlife sanctuaries, known for its population of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros and diverse wildlife. Day 9 marks the shift from mountainous terrain to the verdant grasslands and dense forests of Assam, promising exciting wildlife encounters and a deeper connection with the natural world.
On Day 10, you are in for a thrilling adventure in the heart of nature as you explore the renowned Kaziranga National Park. The day begins with the option of choosing between an early morning elephant safari, providing a unique and up-close wildlife experience, or a Jeep safari in the afternoon, allowing for comprehensive exploration of the park’s diverse habitats and wildlife.
After a day of wildlife encounters and scenic beauty, the evening promises cultural enrichment with a captivating cultural dance performance. Day 11 marks the return journey from Kaziranga to Guwahati, the gateway to the North East.
